Let me share with you a little about the work we are involved in here in Iguala.
Since I came from Venezuela, three years ago, I have been working with the Beckett's, helping them with their Spanish with two classes a week, and it's been a pleasure and an honour to serve in this way.
We also share the responsibility with the Sunday-school class in the Assembly; the first Breaking of Bread here was three years ago. We have rejoiced in the privilege of seeing new believers coming from different backgrounds who are sharing for the first time the beautiful truths of the Assembly, gathering in His Name, and growing in grace and exercising their gifts. It has been very encouraging in recent days to see the activity in Gospel efforts and Bible studies.
Most of the time I work with some of the ladies here, new believers who are interested in learning how to read their Bibles, and it's been a major joy to see them grow in their devotional life. We get together every week. Right now we are in the middle of a study about some "Women in the Bible," going from Eve, in the O.T. to Lydia in the N.T. It's been a beautiful learning time for me as well, I am grateful.
We have a monthly activity as well for young girls, where we share the Word (often with a good meal made by Anna Beckett) the girls are from the neighbourhood and are classmates of the girls who are in the fellowship of the Assembly. We usually get together with them on Saturday. This is a significant opportunity to reach the girls here in the city who otherwise are not able to attend the meetings in the hall, some because of their parent's religion, others because of the insecurity of the city they are not allowed to go out alone. Please remember this effort in your prayers.
I trust that God who takes care of the grass and the birds, will also provide for you in every area of your life, and it is my prayer that you can rejoice with us, in what our Gracious Father is doing in this land.
